Standing firm as one of Brisbane’s longest running dining institutions and opening in 1995, e’cco bistro has filled the bellies and hearts of locals and visitors with Johnson’s menu of contemporary bistro food. Only a few years after opening, in 1997 e’cco bistro took out the Remy Martin Cognac Australian Gourmet Award for Best Australian Restaurant – an absolute coup for Johnson and for Queensland. This award was widely regarded as the ultimate accolade on the Australian restaurant scene and helped solidify e’cco’s standing on a national scale. Since this time, e’cco bistro and Johnson himself have been consistently recognized within the industry and peers through an array of awards, featuring in various publications, special guest chef appearances and with Johnson also authoring 7 cookbooks featuring many e’cco bistro classics. Fast forward a few decades, e’cco up and moved stumps from its home of 22 years in Adelaide Street in Brisbane City, to Haven in Newstead, its current home.
